Perhaps MCP Mags salary surveys would be more real world if they compiled there cert listings by number of years experience. Only this wouldn't be so good for subscriptions sales.

The pity is that some poor fools are actually going to believe this stuff . . . 60K a year is only Network+ away!

Are Compaq Master Accredited Systems Engineers really more sought after than people with these other accreditations?

Anyone any info or knowledge of this?

Really, I find it impossible to reliably quantify any salary data. There are so many variables: other certs, years experience,  years experience at one company, years experience at several IT companies, college degree, luck, more luck, and even more luck, personality, job role, regional cost of living, supply, demand.  And the list goes on.....

With this list I should be making at least $30,000 more.  What a ripoff.  I'm moving to Fantasyland where these salaries really do exist.

You have to be MCSE certified to qualify for the Compaq ACE certification and it is hard to do, a guy I used to work with did already have his MSCE and also got his ACE certification as well (the place sold Compaq Proliant workstations and servers).

A bunch of us here in the Dallas area have read those numbers. Who did they get to lie on that survey?
Here's a thought, those numbers were compiled before all the layoffs and company bankruptcies. (All the high salaries - that's why they went bankrupt or had massive layoffs)

Well like someone said you can't expect a salary like that unless you have some real good experience at that line of work along with the certification.  I worked as a contractor before and made the same salary as a friend who had his MCSE and CNA cert but I had about a year more experience (he only had about 4 months experience) and only an A+ cert and associates degree in pc maintenance, so experience counts for alot on the pay ratings of jobs.
