Ok,

Here's the statement regarding DNS NT4 and its' support of active directory...

Pg 170 Pp 3
Microsoft MCSE Training Kit Designing a Directory Services Infrastructure.

The following DNS services meet the DNS server requirements to support active directory:
1. DNS BIND ver 8.1.2.or later
2. Windows NT 4 DNS

Please correct me if I'm wrong but NT4 DNS doesn't support SRV records so it is incompatable with AD. Am I halucinating here or..........

Bind version 4.9.6 supports SRV records thereby meeting the minimum support level for AD installation...just not dynamic updates. Ack who's splitting hairs?
