Welcome to the forums, it's always nice to have new members.

Personally, I think anybody that sets their mind to it can "get through it".  But is that what you really want?

What is your IT/PC background?  Are you comfortable opening the computer case or does it scare you to think what might be in there?

What sort of work do you currently do?

If u have a PC at home,
If u have a study guide,
If u know someone to help,
If u know to ask us,

You chance is very high!

Confident, courage, and commitment will get you there.

Good luck Smiley

Take a PC apart, set all the pieces aside and put the pieces back one at a time, know what they are, what they do and where they go. If you do that a few times until you're comfortable with it you'll do alright on the hardware visual part of the exam.

Hi, I know how you feel, this is how I felt last year when I started. On top of the studies we had a busy family life and busy work life. It will get easier though.

I think it is very tough to start studies when you haven't read a book in ages!

I understand where you coming from tnkgrrl.
Sometimes I feel that there is so much to study or to know and then trying to decide which is most important. I guess eventually all of it is.You can do it

"Take a PC apart, set all the pieces aside and put the pieces back one at a time, know what they are, what they do and where they go. If you do that a few times until you're comfortable with it you'll do alright on the hardware visual part of the exam."

I have a question on this one...when removing pieces from a PC, is there any special handling procedure, any place they should not be "set" on or around, the best place to store them once they are out of the PC.
Any information will be appreciated.

I wish you well on your A+ test...but I do not know if there is really any use in having that certification.  I havent decided if the money would be well spent on taking the exam.  What do you think?Huh

You may get through the test but
that doesn't guarantee that you'll
EVER get a PC tech job!

Experience seems to be valued much more than
certifications.
