Hello all!
I just finished 71-218 Beta test a little while ago. The particulars:
   90 questions
   4 hours
   Topics included:
   RRAS - EAP, MS-CHAP, VPNs
Subnetting - know classful subnets and appropriate subnet masks
   IIS - creating virtual directories
Lots on OUs, GPOs, child domains, inherited permissions
File signature verification - when to disable, etc.
Recovery Console - "you installed new NIC, add a second processor, sound card, etc.
   DNS - many questions!
Exhibits were often multiple views for the same question, i.e. network configuration
and a tracert or a route table, "why can't this server be viewed"
Three Drag and Drop with IP, Submask, DGW
When to create primary, secondary DNS zones
Many questions on Terminal services - I guess MS thinks this will be a prominent feature on W2K domains, but we don't use it here
Internet Connection sharing, Internet Authentication service
   Print servers, devices, permissions
All in all, not too bad. I won't know how I did until MS mails the results in about 5 weeks! It was worth my time even if I didn't pass, but I just may squeak in. I'll let y'all know when I find out

Now that you took the beta exam 70-218, is there anything you could say to study? I mean is there a book or particular module (70-216,70-217, etc...) that we could study to help us possibley pass the test. I take my test on the 21st and would appreciate any help that you could give to me.

from what i heard from various people who took the exam today , you should read mocs of 70-210,215,216,217 and you will do fine.
in the overall everyone say its easier than 216.
taking it 2morrow.

More thoughts on the 218 beta.
My boss is taking the 240 test right now, and yesterday I was sharing with him some study material I had found on 240. As I read some of them, I began to see that many of the questions were just like what I had seen on the 218 test. As my daughter would say, "DUHH!"
Therefore, I suggest you look at the Cramsession for 240, the Examnotes on this site, and yes, some of the braindumps for 240 as well. I'm not eligible to take the 240 test, so I never really researched the 240 materials that are available before the test.
My lasting impression of the test is you are really hit hard on DNS, DHCP,RAS, and lots of permissions/group policies for OUs.

Good luck! I bet we have some passing scores from this forum!
