According to the MS site they are emailing selected people to take the test.  I would think that as an MCP with A+ and Net+ I would have heard something but nothing so far.  Any ideas on how to get in touch with the right people?

I got my e-mail in the middle of November, I think.
Check their Beta page :
http://www.microsoft.com/traincert/mcpexams/status/beta.asp

It might be the MCP's held - do you have the 70-216 exam ?  it says on the web page that

" Selection is based on experience working with the corresponding product or a previous version of the product.

Experience is demonstrated by passing exams for previous versions of the product, participation as a Rapid Deployment Partner or Joint Development Partner, and other criteria. "

I have the core 4 MCPs which includes 216
and maybe that's why I got one.

It might be worth e-mailing them to find out why.

you didnt got invite to the beta exam for a very simple reason.
and for one reason only.
you are not subscribe to the mcp newsletter of microsoft.
they invite all mcps to most of the beta exams from there.
so subscribe now so you wont miss future exams.
http://www.microsoft.com/traincert/newsletters/

if you want to take the beta you can write to mcphelp@microsoft.com and they might help you.

Moranz is correct. They tell you on the MCP site that you must subscribe to let them know you are interested in taking beta tests.

When a beta comes out and you have the required tests passed you will get an invite for the new beta.

Go subscribe!

According to McSweeney, the Managing a Windows 2000 Network exam (70-218), which is currently in beta, will go live Jan. 22, 2002. "Those who were invited to sit the beta will know of their success or failure in early January," she said.

When it came to deciding who would be asked to take the beta, McSweeney said, "We invited MCPs who fit the MCSA profileďă÷people who passed the Windows 2000 Professional, Win2K Server or Win 2K Network Infrastructure (exams), but who aren't MCSEs."
