Microsoft has ended the preview of XP beta in the US and Canada. However, if you are in Sweden, Netherlands, UK, New Zealand or Australia you can still get a copy.

Only if you want to go to MSN. If you think Micro$oft got in trouble for packaging IE with Windows, stand by. They have a new registration process and it bugs you to register on line, which of course you have to create a MSN account, which is free for now.

Of course they say they need to force registration because of the piracy. Can no longer get one copy and put it on every computer at home (or the office). But, my prediction is in the future you will have to have an annual subscriptions to Windows XP to contine to use it. Guess they couldn't sell enough upgrades to make any money. I understand Office XP is going that route also. Sort of like the razor company, sell you the razor and you have to buy their blades.
