This is a little cut and paste from one of our earlier newsletters about Windows 2000 resource kit:

Windows 2000 resource kit is not only a valuable tool in all MCSE exams preparation, but also is a must have reference for every network administrator. Windows 2000 resource kit is a set of 7 books and CDs. You can buy it from for $239.00 ‘«Ű 20% off the regular price
Here is the link:

Like to try it before you buy it?  We found these great sample chapters from the resource kit right on the Microsoft‘«÷s web site.

The one thing I like about Amazon is that you get a lot of reviews.  A lot of them seemed to be ho-hum about the series, especially in terms of certification stufy material.  If you still want to get it though, buy it through some place like bookpool.  Most of their stuff is 30-50% off.

Don't confuse the W2K Server resource kit with any study guides.  It wasn't written as a study guide.  It was written as the "how to" for IT people to run W2K Server.  It has way more info than you need for 70-215, and not much on W2K Pro (since there is a seperate resource kit for W2K Pro).  When something doesn't make sense in your study guide, turn to the resource kit/technet.  You'll get way more info than you want.  Again, the resource kit is not a study guide.  I guarantee that there isn't a study guide out there that has all the information that the resource kit has in it (Anyone seen a 7000+ page study guide for W2K Server?).

The MCSE training kits for the MCSE 2000 (and other study guides) are aimed at specific topics covered in specific exams.

Every network administrator should have the resource kit, but not necessarily the training kits.  Every exam taker should have study guides, but not necessarily the resource kit (but it's helpful).

Just my opinion Smiley
