I personally liked the new John Carter movie, thought it was good and disappointed that the crowd hasn't been there for it. I think maybe if they had titled it something other than "John Carter" it would have done better. That title almost got me but went and saw it anyway and it was surprisingly good. Everyone should go see it even though it should have been titled "Mars Interplanetary Mission or Mars Interplanetary War" something like that, anything but a name.
Anyway, just my thinking!

I saw the Hunger Games and thought it was rather good.  What didn't you like about it?

Well, we wonder why there are shootings at our schools and places??? Killing is okay as long as it is done as a sport, right? I really liked the part "please don't kill me, please don't kill me, ha ha he he he wasn't that funny?" Funny! really!?!? This is what I got out of the movie, there might be somehing grand about the books that aren't in the movie, but for anyone (like me or kids on the street) that just see it to see what all the fuss is about. We get, "killing is okay and cool even as long as it is done as a sport!" I don't think we need to be teaching our kids this.... I really can't see anything good about the movie at all...

That's my soap box!

Another one, wasn't that so emotional when Prue was killed... not really! My first thought, isn't she going to have to kill her in order to win, isn't that what the game is all about? How is she going to do that? I bet someone else kills her… wait didn't see that coming! And did you notice, she (winner girl) never really did anything, someone always helped her! And let's not forget the sick Romeo and Juliet seen at the end… She has a boyfriend back home but plays along with either liking this guy or loving him even though he tried to betray her at the beginning of the games and she clearly showed signs before the game that she didn’t like him, what were they (story writers) trying to do there? Whatever it was they never developed it or it was just bad editing, story writing or something!
Alright I stop my soapbox!

Good to see your point of view on the movie.  Now I clearly understand why you didn't like it.

My son saw Hunger Games the other week and loved it.

But then he is in to archery, through scouts, at the moment.

We have tickets to the Olympic Archery competition.

He has also just read the book (in about 4 days) and has two more from the series.

Good to see you still alive Deja.

I watched "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" on Dec 24 and felt it kept me entertained for 3 hours.

Anyone else seen it yet?
