i wanted to find peoples opinions on this issue, if problems arise at work is the paper trail approach effective, say you find yourself in a situation where you feel you are treated unfairly or you have been bullied at work.

would be interested on peoples opinions on this issue.

A paper trail is always the way to go if you need to prove something, whether it be good or bad.

If you want a raise or promotion, you should have documentation of what you have accomplished on the job that warrants the raise/promotion.

On the other hand, if you are being harrassed at work, you need some proof to back up your claim. Try to put all communication in writing. Document things as they happen.
