Hi all,

I have a problem computer.  I started to see a huge lag in network performance on this one computer.

I looked at the managed switch and noticed a lot of CRC errors were being generated from that port.

After ruling out Wires and switch, I found that the NIC was causing issues.

I changed the NIC with another and still had the same problems.  I changed the NIC to another PCI slot and still same problems.

I have tried about 5 different NIC's in about 4 PCI slots with no improvement.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions before I rul that the MoBo has gone off its rocker?

TIA

Look at your switch again, and use a different port.

Check computer for viruses.

Reimage the machine.

Then try replacing mobo.

My bad, I forgot to mention that the computer is on another port on another switch and there is a  replacement computer at the original location.  That computer isnt having issues.

I repaired and reformatted XP with no luck.

there are zero viruses.

The only other thing that i havent tried was a new MoBo, but I dont have an exact replacement.

Thanks for your advice.  Looks like I am going to have to trash the board
