I have completed my mcp 70-229.This was my first certification. I decided to make a career in database. I Would like to get advice for the which future steps should i take.

I recommend you take your operating system exam next (either 70-215 or 70-290).  After you pass the operating system exam, next take 70-228.  Some questions on 70-228 deal with monitoring performance and other issues that are closedly related to the operating system.  Then your take your elective exam to complete your MCDBA.  I took 70-305 as an elective and still use the material everyday.  Good luck !!!

I thought you needed two OS exams... anyway, biggest prob with MCDBA is the elective. I'm not fond of .NET programming and the data warehouse test hasn't been updated since SQL Server 7. Good news is once you're done all you need is a single desktop support test (either XP or 2000 Pro) to get your MCSA. It's like two decent certs for the price of one. Wink
