How exactly do you benefit by taking the INet+ exam and passing it.  I have the Microsoft Masters exam I was thinking of getting the INet+ also.  I'm sure it looks good on a resume just wanted some more details??

thank you

The i-Net+ certification is recognized as a baseline technical knowledge specifically designed to certify entry-level Internet and e-commerce technical professionals.

Those holding i-Net+ certification demonstrate knowledge and competency in Internet basics and clients, development, networking, Internet security and business concepts.

One interesting thing about I-Net+ is you can transfer the credit towards CIW Associate certification. Pass one test, get two certs. Not a bad deal, but it'll cost you an extra $95 and the offer expires at the end of this year.

I think the 2 for 1 Cert is the best benefit.

so you pay good money to get one worthless cert and then pay even more money to transfer it to another worthless cert. GOOD DEAL!

what good is inet? the stuff in it is elementary... ie, stuff that you better know it. So, if you are into this field and realize that you don't know much of what is in the context of the  exam, you are in big trouble.

I'm not going to argue with you mikop. Unfortunately, when you're trying to impress HR people with communication degrees, even basic certs speak volumes more than your experience. Most have a hard time opening Word email attachments, so don't expect them to know what Apache and PHP are. Certified Internet Webmaster they can understand. Of course, once you get the job you better be able to actually do it.

If you have a lot of experience in this field then yes, it may be worthless but if you are starting out and want to pursue a career in this field then it might be a useful cert. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have it on your resume to show you at least have base level knowledge to lessen the impact of having no experience. But, like I said, if you've been in this field for a while then i-net+ may seem to be a waste of money. It varies from individual to individual but I think this cert has a place in entry level situations.

I agree all heartedly with that statement. It's just that if this is for someone who is working on adding certs for work-related purposes, there are certs that are more compelling to hiring managers that you can add to your resume.
