I used everything I could to prepare:

1. Set up a lab using trial version of Microsoft Connectix (Virtual machine sw) and eval copies of Advanced Server, Exchange, and Outlook.

2. Used Microsofts Self Study Kit for 224

3. Transcender Practice Exam

4. Exchange 2k Resource Kit

5. Read every white paper on Microsofts WebSite I could find that seemed relevant.

6. Signed up for the QOD

7. read this board

So far this formula has worked well for me, every exam taken has been passed on the first try.

Total time invested in A+, N+, MCSA, & MCSE is right at a full year.(assuming I can get the 219 test out of the way at the end of October)

For the 224 exam I have been reading for 2 months about 12 - 20 hours a week, with some home lab stuff thrown in. Past 2 weeks started really bearing down with the help of transcender.

I am fortunate to have a lot of work related tasks that involve designing and implementing a custom Windows application that uses a large network. Exchange was a bit tough because I do not use it at work.

Active Directory Design may be tougher for me because I need to "learn" Microsoft's way of doing things, instead of my own.
