When I took my A+ OS exam, 12 of the 16 questions asked were verbatim from the practice exam I bought from VN Publishing.  There were several identical questions on the Net+, too. I can't comment on A+ Hardware, since I didn't find VN Publishing until after that test.

What was the best part is that each practice exam is $19 and you get more than 700 questions on each exam.

They only offer one exam for Microsoft right now, 70-210.

I'm not a sales rep or anything, just thought you'd like to know if you're studying.

Actually, guys, I don't work for VN Publishing, nor do I get any kind of a kick-back for the info.

The info I posted was about a practice exam engine - just like ExamWeb or PrepLogic - but a whole lot cheaper.  They even have a free demo download so that you can check it out.

I was only trying to explain how accurate the info supplied was - I was completely stunned to see all of the same questions.  However, with the other exam engines I have used, I have had similar questions - just not verbatim.

CompTIA uses the adaptive test for all three of these exams - so the odds of my getting everything like that are about like winning the lottery.

However, I put in my lab time and study time - in addition to using the test engines - so my pass grades are all completely valid.

I don't know...if the questions were word for word it sounds very braindumpy.

Why not actually check it out before you condemn it as a braindump.

First of all, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Second of all, I don't have to because you condemned it as a braindump when you said this:

"12 of the 16 questions asked were verbatim from the practice exam I bought from VN Publishing."

Braindumps aren't only on certain websites for free you know...there are websites that sell them and if the questions are word for word then it is a braindump and somebody should report the company to the exam vendor.

You know, you can believe what you want to believe.  I researched this company before I made my purchase because I don't  support brain dumps.  I was referred to this site from several reputable study guides. Here is a quote from their website, since no one wants to actually look before they condemn:

"VN Publishing Company News

Our software was selected to be in the "Server+ for Dummies" book from Hungry Minds.

Our software was selected to be in the A+ Bible book from Hungry Minds.

Our software was selected to be included in the 2nd revision of "A+ Certification for Dummies" from Hungry Minds, formerly IDG
Books."

So, would publishers truly use a test engine that was nothing but a brain dump?? I don't think so.  Wouldn't CompTIA do something about it? I think so.

If you want to decide that this is a brain dump, fine for you.  If you're someone who is open-minded and looking for inexpensive testing engines to study with, then check it out and decide for yourself.

Exact verbatim questions and answers are braindumps.  Exam vendors do nab companies like this all the time.

There is no way they could have exact questions and answers unless A - they are psychic, or B - they obtained them illegally by someone who signed the NDA, wrote the exam, and then gave them the questions.

Actually, all of my CompTIA experiences have been adaptive and none were beta, to my knowledge.
