I completely agree with Boulware.  That book is great.  I also found "Exam Cram 2" to be very good but if you are going with only one book get the Meyers!!!

I know it sounds stupid, but I used the book "A+ Certification for Dummies" and it REALLY helped.  I found very helpful study guides and great website resouces.

However, I would not used their enclosed test engine.  It looks like when they updated it, they didn't check the questions.  Several questions, you answer the question right but the test engine counts it wrong.

For an excellent test engine go to VN Publishing, http://www.vnpublishing.com

They have A+H, A+OS and Network+ only $19 for each test. I found that when I took the test, many of the questions from VN were verbatim on the test.

Hope this helps and good luck!

i used mike meyer's all-in-one book but i highly recommend A+ Adaptive Exams by Christopher Crayton.  Very concise to the point and very portable and easy to carry along with you instead of that huge book.  also hase a great CD that comes with it.  check it out here:

i used mike meyers' book (fourth edition)... 1200 pages but so easy to read, he dumbs it down to the point where u can easily understand what he is saying, and the book comes with a cd a practice test ... well worth the money.

I used the book by Sybex and found it to be excellent. It comes with a PDF of the book (which makes it easily searchable). I read the book cover to cover and studied it, not just breezed through it. I passed core with an 885 adaptive and the OS linear with a 900 (perfect score).I took the core just before they changed the format to linear (I prefer the adaptive).
There is no magic book though (except braindumps, where you learn nothing but the answers to the specific test) you must study (memorize) the A+ material till you know it inside out!
Whatever book you choose study hard and you will do fine! Be sure to use the online forums available! QOD...

Mike Meyer's all in one is probably the most talked about/recommened one that I've heard of.  It's also what I used to study for/pass the exams.
