If anyone has a suggestion to add, please post them in the same subject thread located in the 70-215 forum.  Thanks

2  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-215 / XP and TS on: January 15, 2004, 12:18:44 PM
Thanks for the reply Deja.  No, fast user switching is not enabled.  However, there is a twist and my original information was not completely accurate.  Since I had heard that the problem only existed for XP users, I set up one of my laptops with Win2K pro so I could continue to work from home.  The problem still existed.  The problems seem to be specific to users.  I have considered the possibility of the ISP's contributing to the connection problems, but another employee uses the same ISP I do (which is a local university) and has no problems.

The event logs still say the license server cannot be found at times I try logging in.  We connect using Cisco VPN software and have an IP address assigned at that time. VPN connectivity is OK. I am going to check the DHCP/DNS settings between two machines to see if there are any differences.

If anyone else has suggestions, please throw them my way.  I would prefer not to burn up a MS support call if I can avoid it.  Thanks.
3  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-215 / XP and TS on: January 13, 2004, 03:24:40 PM
I was wondering if anyone was having problems with WinXP Pro connecting to a Win2K terminal server. I was able to at one point, but haven't been able to for a few months. When I try to connect via remote desktop, I get a message saying that the connection has timed out. Checking the event log on the TS, it cannot find a license server when I am trying to connect. Windows 2K pro machines have no problems connecting. There is a license that was issued to my machine when I first connected in the license manager.

This does not appear to be the same issue as listed in MS doc. 323597.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I have also posted this in the XP forum, since it has to do with both OS's.

5  Other IT certifications / CWNP / new to cwna on: November 25, 2003, 12:36:42 PM
Greetings all:  I am new to the cwna cert field, but do have some wireless experience.  I just purchased a book  from amazon.com, and was wondering if anyone could suggest any other material I could use to study with.  Any practice tests available?

I have hardware for a few wireless networks, so a test setup is already in the works.  Thanks

PC in the car?  Is this something that's part of the car itself or more like your travel pc?

I had to ask.  I have an image of enforcer driving around town in a car like the ol' (k)night rider.

I agree. I have used MS Press for all of my studying up to here and have had nothing but success.  This includes to readiness reviews also.
