2  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Server 2003 / Domain Functional Level on: November 10, 2003, 05:18:07 PM
Panic over. For some reason, a good one I'm sure, it seems I needed my other DC up. Because as soon as I powered this one up I was able to raise the functional level.

Every time I try and raise the domain functional level the system comes back and tells me:

The functional level could not be raised. The Error is: The directory service is busy.

I can't find any errors in the log files. Any one got a bright ideas?

Jeff

I signed up about 2 months ago just after I took 70-214, so it would have been nice to have a go at the beta for this one.

Dennis

How did you go for time on 296? I finished 292 with about 20 secs to go, didn't get the chance to go back through the ones I'd marked. I've booked 296 in for the end of November and am currently using the ms press guide. I've also done a microsoft 296 workshop. I'm hoping Transcender bring out there practice exam soon.

9  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Server 2003 / 70-292 @ Prometric on: October 29, 2003, 03:09:09 PM
Well prometric say they only pass out the software supplied to them by Microsoft. So now I'm going to call Microsoft.

Do you think I should complain to prometric and try and get a freebe out of them???

Well I took and passed 70-292 today at a Prometric center. I noticed that the testing program has been updated. On a number of the questions I could have done with a MUCH larger screen as I couldn't see half of the question in hand. Also one question that said see exhibit had no exhibit button - had to take a big guess. So I noted it as I was going to make a comment at the end. But strange things happened at the exam end. I was not given the chance to comment and also it didn't even tell me if I'd passed, only printed out the sheet.

Any one else had the same thing?Huh

Well played Juan, nice score! Were you told the passing mark at the start? Also did you get a complete break down of your score?

14  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-214 / 214 done on: August 19, 2003, 03:27:15 PM
Passed 70-214 on monday. Used up all but 5 mins of the time allowed . Had the same prob with Transcender, using up most on my time on the practice exams. Used the Ms Press guide, exam cram 2 and Transcender. I found the exam cram 2 book hard reading unlike the old exam crams. MS Press and Transcender were well worth it. Had one question in the exam to do with DHCP which I'm still trying to figure out why it was in the security exam? Also had a couple of questions I'd not studied anything about. So it's off to the design exam now(70-220), any advice on how much and how long to revise for this next one?

Hi Jeff

Does it look any good? I have bought the product as I've found in the past that transcender has been a great help, a good guide to what I need to brush up on. It's been about 9 months since I made MCSE and I've not been able to put in to practice what I had learn't. The company I work for is still on NT4.
