1  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Windows XP exams / How many questions for 70-270? on: July 07, 2004, 08:33:18 PM
I had 50 questions when I recently took it.  I think each test varies and you won't know which test you'll be taking until test time.  I've heard the number of questions can vary from 20-50 questions.
2  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Windows XP exams / Win 2000 or 2003 exam? on: June 21, 2004, 05:24:03 PM
I'm sure this question has been asked before...which exam track should I go for: Win2k or Server 2003?

I know that keeping up w/the times say to go for Server 2003 but my thinking was to go for the 2k track 1st since that's what I'm more familiar with, then later take the 2 upgrade exams for Server 2003.

People say that Win2k is easier than 2003...anyone dis/agree?  Have any of you gone the route that I plan -Was/is Win2k but took/plan to take the upgrade exams for Server 2003?

Thanx for the feedback guys!
3  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Windows XP exams / Anyone had to re-take? on: June 11, 2004, 03:47:52 PM
I recently took the XP exam but failed.  I'm planning on re-taking the exam soon but wanted to get any feedback on anyone who's ever had to re-take the exam multiple times to pass.

What can I expect the 2nd attempt to be like?  Would I see the same questions/subject matters as the 1st exam that I took, totally different, or....?
4  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Windows XP exams / PrepLogic any good? on: June 11, 2004, 03:42:12 PM
Anyone ever use PrepLogic to study with?
5  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Windows XP exams / Braindump thoughts anyone? on: June 08, 2004, 03:03:14 PM
What do you guys think of using brain dumps for preping for an MCSE exam?  I heard that tesk-king and are pretty good...anyone dis/agree?

I've been working in the industry for 5+ years I do have "hands on" experience, its just that my company wants me to be certified (even tho I have a BS degree in Ntwk Engineering) gave me a deadline to finish my certs ~yikes!

I only have a 'lil over 2 months to complete the MCSE track and reading the 700-900 plus study bible books aren't really cutting it in time sensitive matters.  Any thoughts on speeding up my study training cuz time is ticking...
6  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Windows XP exams / congrats! on: June 07, 2004, 01:31:08 PM
Way to go!  What's it a Q&A practice exam like TestKing or ActualTests?
What other study material if any did you use?
7  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Windows XP exams / Failed miserably...need help! on: June 03, 2004, 03:45:55 PM
I took the 270/XP exam yesterday and horribly failed!  The whole exam seemed foreign to me and I felt sooo helpless.   I'd say that only 25% of what I studied was on the actual exam. I agree with those of you who say that the exam doesn't relate to "real world" issues.

The books used for study: Sybex vol 1 (by Lisa Donald & James Chellis) and Exam Cram 2.  I'v been hearing that Sybex vol 1 had a lot of errors...does anyone know that for a fact?  How about Exam Cram 2...any good for preping for the actual exam?  I actually studied more of Sybex than Exam Cram.

What other study materials (books, practice tests, etc) should I look into/study before retaking the exam?  Anyone know of any good brain dumps or practice exams that closely resembles the actual?  I've been working in the IT industry as a Network Admin/Engineer for the past 5 years + now and my company just wants me to be MCSE certified.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

8  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / MCSE elective exams / Dynamic DNS or WINS Server on: June 01, 2004, 04:41:47 PM
Which should I implement for Active Directory: DNS or WINS servers?
9  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-210 / China IT Certify practice exams any good? on: September 05, 2002, 01:43:11 PM
I'm thinking about taking my MCP Pro test soon but wanted to take some practice exam questions prior to taking the actual exam...anyone recommend any good practice/prep tests out there?  Is China IT Certify any good?
10  Cisco / CCNA / ? -those who have taken the exam multiple timess on: March 08, 2001, 01:08:23 PM
This (?) is mainly for those of you who have taken the exam multiple times (or for any of you who may know):

I recently took the exam and missed passing it by 2 questions!  I was very upset because the new passing score has recently been upped to 849.  Errrrr!!!

My question is (for those who have taken it more than once) -was the second time taking the exam harder than the first, or were they equally challenging?  How about content...did they more or less have the same questions, or were they completely different from one another?

Thanx in advance for any goal is to pass the exam the second time around w/in these next couple of weeks.  Wish me luck.  =)

11  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Windows 2000 track general / Win 2000 on: December 03, 2000, 07:30:00 AM
I believe that there are different Win2000 tests, ie: Win Professional, Server, etc.
I don't mean to sound juvenile, but which Exam would be the easiest to take/study for?
12  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Windows 2000 track general / Win 2000 on: December 02, 2000, 09:48:00 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong...In order to me MCSE certified, you need to take/pass a series of 7 different tests, right?  How about in order to be considered MCP windows 2000?  Is there just one test?

13  Cisco / CCNA / Did they change the passing score? on: February 15, 2001, 01:39:00 AM
Yup, Cisco has upped the standards to pass!  I just took the test today, and almost passed it by 2 freakin questions!  =P

The new passing score is 849.
14  Cisco / CCNA / TCP/IP...ICMP question on: February 15, 2001, 01:55:00 AM
Are all TCP/IP hosts implimented by ICMP?
15  Cisco / CCNA / CCNA passing score on: February 15, 2001, 01:31:00 AM
I thought the passing score "was" 822, but when I went to go take the test (today), it said 849 to pass.  I don't know if Cisco's got a different scale or something...?
