1  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / SQL server exams / 70-229 Easier than 228 on: April 04, 2005, 04:14:03 PM
Took 228 on 4/1/2005 and 229 on 4/4/2005.  Used hands-on experience for both exams.  These two exams are not too bad if you understand the principles.  They are however, more difficult than the core MCSE exams.
2  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / SQL server exams / Passed this morning on: April 01, 2005, 06:55:11 PM
Despite three computer crashes - I passed this exam this morning.  I probably should have double-checked all of my answers to verify they were stored as what I selected before submitting the exam, but I still passed with just a shade under 900.

Study tools used - hands on experience.
3  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-220 / Passed today. on: March 04, 2005, 09:25:52 PM
Passed this morning.  Exam was a lot easier than 216, but not as easy as 210 or 215, and just about the same level of difficulty as 217.

Used technet and lots of hands-on experience.

Critical reading is probably the biggest part of this test.

5  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-216 / Blue Border Questions on: June 10, 2003, 12:44:54 PM
The questions are not likely to be adaptive given the nature of the exam.  You can move forward and backward on the exam.  You can mark the questions etc and come back later.  An adaptive exam would not permit you to mark a question for review (a good example of such is the novell exams).

The blue border in my understanding is just to distinguish them as new questions, sim type questions, drag and drop, and/or beta questions:D
6  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-216 / MCP Questions : mcpquestionbank.com is simply the best on: June 03, 2001, 07:34:25 PM
the original post was what i was responding to.  Those are all questions I saw on the 240 exam.  Since they come from the same pool of questions I would say that the original post was a mini-dump.
7  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-240 / took the exam on: May 31, 2001, 03:56:32 PM
individual exams are fairly easy---much shorter and more concentrated on specific topics.

The exam is non adaptive just as are the individual exams.

was there really a need to post a mini dump here?
9  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-240 / took the exam on: May 31, 2001, 10:42:36 AM
questions can be marked within each module and revisited as much as you like so long as you don't end that module
10  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-240 / more about 240--serious post on: May 25, 2001, 08:04:46 PM
I just sat 210 and 215 back to back today.  Did 210 first.  FInished it in 40 minutes with a score of 860.  Started 215 about 15 minutes later (the center had some problems with getting the test or something).  Finished that one in about 40 minutes as well with a score of 900.  Both tests were 60 questions long and allowed for 150 minutes.  These tests were straight forward and a lot of the 240 questions popped up on them.  Two of the easier tests I've taken (240 would also be one of the easier ones---not nearly as hard as sql 6.5 admin when it first came out).  Didn't need to do any additional studying since I felt I knew the topics very well already.  Apparently I did.

Further hope for those who fail the 240.
11  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-240 / here's my dump on: May 24, 2001, 11:13:17 AM
Not really.  Just wanted to see how many people are looking for the easy road.  Watching the view counters on the page.
12  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-240 / took the exam on: May 24, 2001, 11:09:21 AM
finished the exam in just about two hours.
order was
210
215
216
217.

The first three were unbelievably easy.  217 took just about all of my time (of course it only allowing 50 minutes didn't help too much.)  All of the questions were really long on 217, not too many scenarios.  Had to read through alot of fluff to get to the meat.
I knew as soon as i hit end on my 217 test that i had messed up.  I realized that i made some silly mistakes with it.  Had I had more time i would have realized it and corrected them.
The exam is fair for the most part.

I did not pass, no excuses for it because I should have passed.  I checked all of my answers and questions with the material i have.  I missed two questions on 210, 2 on 215, 3 on 216 and 6 on 217.  That of course blows my earlier theory.  I figured that equivalent scores would be required for the 240 subsections as for the individual exams.  With that theory I would have been able to miss 7 questions on 217.  Oh well.  Now I know what to expect on the individual exams and shouldn't have too much difficulty with them.  Give me a week to pass them.
13  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-240 / the exam on: May 22, 2001, 02:16:58 PM
found the answer to one of my own questions.  The test being form based should mean that answers can be reviewed within the individual module.

i have also found a theory to the exam:

each test is graded individually.  Each test maintains the same pass/fail mark as the associated individual exam.
So in theory in order to pass this exam one would need to successfully answer 18 questions for 210, 16 questions for 215, 14 questions for 216, and 15 questions for 217.  This may be of some help to build confidence for future test takers.

poka
14  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-240 / Several guys used it for taking the 210 and 215 exam and ... they passed ! on: May 22, 2001, 01:51:06 PM
the site is nice but getting somebody to respond to an email is quite difficult.  maybe someday they will respond to either my emails or to my posts.  hmmmmmm:confused:
15  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-240 / Study matirial on: May 22, 2001, 01:46:58 PM
I have some friends who have used it for microsoft stuff.  I have even tried it.  Haven't found it to be too useful other than for getting a feel for the exam.  I have found it however to be of real use for the Novell exams.  Just a thought.
