1  CompTIA / Network+ / After the Net + certification on: October 19, 2006, 07:00:48 AM
I had the enjoyable experience of making up Fiber Optic connections in a harness strapped to a spillway of a dam with a 25 mph wind blowing and a blinding sun beating down on me. I've heard people talk of worse conditions making up Fiber Connections.

Anyone no anything about the protocols GRE and ESP used for Cisco VPN. Is it true that  Very few "consumer grade" broadband routers handle those protocols.

About time, some action on this Forum. I will probably take my Network+ in mid-december too. Levithon has a Fiber Optics Certification. I believe its an All Day class where they teach you how to make up Fiber Optic connections... red

Know the Boot order starting from Post. passitnow.com has some test questions that illustrate this. Also know the paths where those Boot Files are located. Your source seems way off base. Check out certiguide.com....very relevant....Smiley

10  General discussions / Hardware / L2 Cache...SRAM on: October 27, 2005, 07:54:28 AM
I got an old HP Pavilion 7030. Classic Pentium Socket 5. It has no L2 Cache but the slots for it are right there by the Processor. Anyone ever install this stuff? Are the chips proprietary or are they universal? Can I attempt to pull them off other Boards or can I purchase them? Any input is appreciated.
Where can you buy this stuff..?
11  CompTIA / i-NET+ / inet+ not good enough for virus attack on: October 20, 2005, 09:19:16 PM
I've found that if you have a good idea about what time period you became infected
that by using the Search or Find tool you can check to see what Files/Folders were created at that particular time period and narrow down the Culprit Parent File with some detective work....

13  CompTIA / Network+ / Want to take N+ soon... on: October 17, 2005, 07:36:30 PM
I believe when you register with CompTia they've got those Security Questions in case you've forgotten your ID, Password etc... Like... Moms Maiden Name...etc

I decided to sign on to Scott Jernigans Network+ Certification Prep Class.. I really liked his A+ Courses. I enjoyed the Classroom type atmosphere. Not too expensive either. Course starts in two days. Ofcourse I will use Certiguide.com also. Passitnow.com. Plus a lot of Google seaches, Webopedia.com, PCGUIDE, Microsoft..etc Plus my nice little Laboratory I've built up over the past few years.Wink
