1  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Windows XP exams / Best book for 70-270? on: September 04, 2005, 08:13:02 PM
I knocked off the electives for the MCSA...now I'm looking at taking 70-270.  I've read Amazon reviews on books and whatnot but I wanted to see if anyone here has any opinions on good study material to buy?
2  CompTIA / Network+ / Network+ Question on: August 09, 2005, 02:10:50 PM
hey thanks for the response....glad to hear most people are doing well in still using the 002 study guides.

Oh, and for your reference, here is that website comparing the old and new objectives.  good luck!

4  CompTIA / Network+ / Network+ Question on: August 07, 2005, 05:44:41 PM
Ok, now I know a lot of people here do not like braindumps [edited by freak], but please bare with me on my question here.  Often braindumps can be wrong, but they are sometimes also a good source for free additional practice questions.

So here is my question:
Since Network+ was recently updated, almost all braindumps I find will probably be from the 002 material, as opposed to the new 003 test material.  Will all those braindumps from 002 still help me out a lot for studying for the new Network+ exam?  After comparing new and old objectives, there isn't a ton of difference.....so I am hoping 002 material will still be valid for my studying.

Please don't unleash attacks on the concept of braindumps....but please do give me your opinion on whether older material would still help me.  Thanks!
5  CompTIA / Security+ / Aced It on: July 09, 2005, 07:34:37 PM
spam you say?  I could say spam I am....but no, I am definitely not spam.  I did cram for the exam, but I am smart enough to avoid any spam

I am now off to eat some ham.  Please proceed with the comments that you feel necessary....

got a perfect 900 score haha.  I thought I was prepared but man, didn't think I'd do THAT well!  After looking at all avenues, by far the best possible source for preparing for this exam (after reading the study material) is to use the master brain dump list/test engine from freebraindumps.com

If you are planning to take this test, just really go at it good with the master braindump list and you will be golden!
7  CompTIA / Security+ / Will I see this on exam? on: July 07, 2005, 09:50:03 PM
I keep seeing all the same types of subjects and questions pretty much on all the practice tests and study guides I've seen so far.  Although, I got ahold of the Beta Beachfront Quizzer, and it's showing me topics I've never even seen before.  Is this just due to the fact that this exam was probably created before the real exam came out and hasn't been adjusted to the real Security+ yet?  I mean, look at some of these topics that I'm talking about from Beachfront.  Should I just discard these from my study?

examples:
-LOMAC
-Access Matrix Model
-Shadow password file on Linux/Unix
-Keystroke dynamics
-Edge router/ATM network
-Covert Channels
-BRI & PRI
-HDLC
-SDLC
-TCSEC
