4  Cisco / CCNP / help on redistribution simulation on: July 20, 2004, 08:33:01 AM
i did the cit test last week and fell short with 3 marks. there was a simulation on EIGRP/BGP with lost connectivity. guess it requied redistribution. whats a possible approach to this problem.
i retake the test soon. assistace required

had problem with the modem configuration too even when i did it the second time.
#telnet

going thru the chapter on modem configuration in the cisco press book on BCRAN could help also

the sub-interface command should be
s0/0.1
remember to state point-to-point or multipoint when configuring subinterfaces for frame-relay.

GOOD LUCK!

for the modem sim i was asked to configure the modem both physical and logical ie both on the interface and line and also to telnet to the modem and issue an AT command and get the modem to respond with an ok.
8  Cisco / CCNP / Finally finished CCNP on: July 07, 2004, 05:27:07 AM
Congrats Artir
i have just CIT left. when u did CIT what was the passing score
9  Cisco / CCNP / Ccnp Bcmsn on: July 06, 2004, 10:46:32 AM
i used the cisco press book for bcran which was fair, i did not use boson test. the cisco press book did it for me. just study hard and u'll pass it
10  Cisco / CCNP / passed BCRAN on: July 06, 2004, 07:04:19 AM
passed bcran last week there was no question that required u to type in commands. 2 simulations one on configuring modems and the other on configuring frame relay subinterfaces (point-to-point) there where lots of drag and drop type questions, and the others mostly theory. good luck
11  Cisco / CCDA/CCDP / PLs Send me a copy of the PDF FILE on: June 30, 2004, 01:40:57 PM

12  Cisco / CCNP / BCRAN simulation problem (SOS) on: June 29, 2004, 05:37:31 AM
i did the bcran test last week and fell short of the passing score by 70 points. i could not complete one of the simulation questions
i'm planning to do it real soon. i had a problem with a modem configuration simulation during the exam. i could not get the modem to respond ok after i issued the AT COMMAND.

THE TASK somthing like this:
configure s0/1 for asynchronous communication
set the line speed to 55.7
set flow control to hardware
set the stop bits to one
set line password to cisco
configure loopback address to 10.10.10.1/32
reverse telnet to the modem
issue an AT command, the modem should respond with ok.

my solution:
interface serial 0/1
physical-layer async
exit

line 1
login (this line did not work during the simulation, so i skipped it)
password cisco
speed 55700
stopbits 1
modem inout
flowcontrol hardware
transport input all
exit

interface loopback 1
ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.255
exit
copy run start

telnet 10.10.10.1 2001 (i got error messages when i tried to telnet to the modem, so i could not go beyond this point)

please what are the possible problems with this configuration, could it be i did not issue the "no shutdown" command at the serial interface or does the "async mode interactive" command have to be used?
13  Cisco / CCNP / info on CIT (642-831) on: June 16, 2004, 08:19:40 AM
HI ALL
I'M PREPARING FOR CIT AND WOULD BE GLAD IF I COULD GET ADVICE ON HOW BEST TO PREPARE FOR IT, ALSO INFO ON PASSING SCORE, NO OF Q8UESTIONS, MATERIALS, TYPE OF SIMULATIONS AND ANYTHING THATS RELEVANT OF WHICH 9I SHOULD KNOW ABT.
14  Cisco / CCNP / thanks for the advise on: May 26, 2004, 01:50:47 PM
sysopsadmin

15  Cisco / CCNP / Ccnp Bcmsn on: May 15, 2004, 07:22:36 AM
Marathi is the Cisco press book by Brian Morgan And Craig Dennis any good? are u preparing for the BCRAN exam too?
I got BCRAN and CIT left
Hopefully BCRAN next, i have no ISP experience, but loads of experience on small to medium sized LANS
The aim is to be a better TECH/ENGINEER. i have a degree in Mech Engineering but have plenty of luv for IT (networking and communications) and intend to build a career in it.
SO guys i'll be needing all the help i can get from u PROS out there
