1  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Exchange server 2000 / final for mcse on: July 19, 2004, 06:12:07 PM
Whoooh, I passed it this morning and now have my MCSE!  This was a fairly difficult exam and I didn't have a lot of prep time.  I felt like I totally blew this test but when I clicked the final button I hit it right on the number, 700.

I'm going in on this one Monday, it will be my final test for MCSE.  Any tips??
3  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-217 / passed it! on: July 12, 2004, 06:37:12 PM
I took the 217 test this morning and passed with flying colors, 960.  I was actually a little worried since I had not taken any tests in a few months but it was actually pretty easy.  After all the other tests just need to know how GPO applies and publishes software and dns etc in multiple domain situations.
43 questions, took me about 70 minutes.
4  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-217 / suggestions after 217? on: July 08, 2004, 07:14:02 PM
I passed 5 of my tests a few months ago and then got too busy to study.  Getting back now for the final two for MCSE.  Passed 210,215,216,218,221.  Was looking to 219 or 220 for the last one but now am thinking about 224 since I work with Exchange 2000 now and did the upgrade.  Might be more interesting for me.  What to you all think?
5  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-217 / exam format on: March 29, 2004, 06:36:20 PM
Getting ready to take this test on Thursday or Friday, it will be my number 6 for MCSE.  The exam notes here say it is scenario based test but Transcender is not that way.  Will I see the usual questions or scenarios like the 221 exam?
6  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-221 / case study tips on: March 26, 2004, 03:26:44 AM
Well I let this one come up and bite me last week.  Missed passing by 13 points.  Not sure if it was the different test type or what, you really have to pay attention to the details of what they are asking for.  Took it again today and passed easily.  I found it helpful to write down the main points on what was being asked of the new network for easier reference.
Well, two more to go.  217 will be next.
7  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-221 / case study tips on: March 18, 2004, 03:17:55 PM
Thanks for the tips.  When doing the Transcenders I can see flipping back and forth works fine.

I am going to take this test on Friday.  Any tips on getting through the case study format?  Do you write a lot down or just flip back and forth from question to info?

Looks like you are going the same path I did.  Yes, there were two subnetting questions on the test.  That was one of my weak points.  Like I said, you really need to know all aspects but it seems like they hit DNS, DCHCP and RRAS pretty hard.  This was my second time on this one, I think the first one was 60 questions, this one was 50.  I used Transcender and CramMaster practice exams.  I worked on my weak areas and amazingly on the test actually aced those sections but bombed the protocols section.
10  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-216 / Passed on: March 12, 2004, 10:07:37 PM
Took the 216 today and passed!  That gets me to MCSA, on to MCSE.

It was 50 questions, about 2 1/2 hours.  You just need to know all areas of this test.  Lots of DNS, DHCP and RRAS.

I think 221 will be next.

Hi everyone,

Just recently found this forum so I thought I would poke my head in and say hi, looks like a lot of good help here.

I am working as a network admin for a mid size company with about 300 users across several locations.  Made the career change 3 years ago and really loving it.

In the last 4 weeks I have taken 70-210, 215, 216, 218.  Passed all but 216, will try it again on Thursday if ready.  I have Exam Cram, Transcender and Sybex study guide for this one so hopefully that should get me ready.
