Linux can be more secure than Windows, however often it is even less secure, thanks to the multitudes of "little things" that surround Linux. For instance, you have buffer overflows, escalators, administrators that have no idea what inetd.conf is, people surfing around the internet on the system's root account, unshadowed passwords and hey, we haven't even gotten into any GUI, more or less the killing fields of X yet!

I accept 100 %.

Hi Freak,

My knowledge in NW 6.0 is not that good.
I have very stong knowledge and hands on on NW 5.x.

(I am preparing for CNE 6 upgrade exam now). Of course, I have some free time that I use to learn Linux.Smiley

Let me know, how I fit your post.Cheesy

The fact is: MS product are far inferior to unix/Linux counterparts. That does not mean than Unix/Linux do not have bugs.

The reason MS is slow is that it is high in graphics.

The same will become true for Linux/unix if they try the same crisp graphics with Linux/unix.

Why MS is less secure? Because they don't bother. They know they can sell it well.
12  Cisco / CCNP / CCNP recert exam on: June 18, 2003, 11:42:22 PM
I can prove many questions were misleading, & vague.

The more I study, the more I understand. The more I understand, the more I understand how marketing affects the stuff in the certification exams.

Most of the certification exams, especially M$ ones, have marketing things they want you to remember and vomit to customers.

And the more I understand, the more I understand how greedy the vendors are.

BTW, study some vendor neutral stuff. Douglas Comer's TCP/IP book is a good start. You can follow up with Radia Perlman's Interconnections. Well, there are many.

14  Cisco / CCNP / CCNP recert exam on: June 17, 2003, 04:46:02 AM
I would say there were about 15-20 questions that were not accurate, or too vague to answer correctly

I found most of the certification exams I sat for contained many vague exams. The vendors do not have a 'will' to make an exam really professionals.
15  Novell / CNE / Anyone working on upgrade CNE exam on: June 17, 2003, 04:41:19 AM
My test server is NW6 (on a PC). Runs fine. Plans to upgrade the OS this year end.

Kasor, let me know your exam feedback/outcome without violating the NDA.
