1  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / SQL server exams / 70-19 Data Warehouses with SQL 7.0 on: August 02, 2003, 07:12:19 PM
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has taken the 70-19 exam?  I would like some input as to how this exam compares with any of the other SQL 7 exams.

Thanks.....wtf  Cheesy
2  Cisco / CCNA / Your perspective? on: January 19, 2003, 01:01:04 AM
MaulerJ,
First, I would like to extend my congrats on your CCNA accomplishment.  I recently decided to journey into the Cisco realm and acquired the Wendell Odom book and an old copy of the Lammle book (507) from a friend.  I know this is not nearly enough, and I will need some sort of router sim in the near future since I do not have access to a "real" router.  I have a little (okay, tiny) network here at home, nothing elaborate, a server, 2 desktops and a notebook. I was wondering what approach you  took towards the exam.  By this I mean, did you receive most of your resources from techskills.com or through self study?

Thanks.....wtf

Homer2002,
Sorry if I confused you but I was stating that the poster "mrutgers" (several posts prior to my own) had some interesting concepts in his/her exam preperation.  I thought they were great and mentioned that I would utilize them also.  Again, sorry for the confusion and now that everything is crystal clear, happy studying.

4  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / SQL server exams / Testkiller on: March 23, 2002, 12:04:26 AM
I utilized the TroyTec (before they started calling it Testkiller) for 70-028 and it was good, but most of the info could be found in various dumps.  It was concise and it was the first time I decided to use it.  As for 70-29, I just grabbed the books and transcender.  Good luck in your studying.

Homer2002,
Hang in there, you've made that best decisions already and that is to tackle it again and also to not let it get the best of you.  I was impressed with the pointers of "mrutgers" and will utilize them myself in my preparation.  Best wishes in your future preparations and let us kow how you do.

8  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / SQL server exams / Go for 228. on: March 08, 2002, 10:14:00 PM
You know I had asked this same question of myself a while back but took the current (at the time)way out.  I decided to tackle the SQL 7.0 version since 2000 was still fairly new.  I agree with the others that you should take 228.  BTW Cassie, I got a copy of your PDF paper, interesting reading that I enjoyed and will utilize.

9  Cisco / CCNA / Good job! on: March 08, 2002, 10:06:50 PM
Looks like you got in just under the wire if this new exam is coming out on the 13th,   although I've done some searching I cannot seem to validate it.  I guess I will have to take a wait and see approach for now.  Congrats again.

10  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / SQL server exams / 70-019 - Exam Prep? on: March 01, 2002, 08:41:11 PM
Looks like we are reaching a consensus here, although I like the extended view myself.  Something like $99 + $125 + cost of Wrox book + cost of training kit.  I too like to see the pass bar on the first go at it.  BTW, thanks for the tip on the training kit from amazon, picked one up for $24 and some change.  Good luck with your studies.

Speaking of transcenders, the 70-019 test software is currently on sale ($99), still a bit high for most of us though.  You might also want to check out the Wrox book, Professional SQL Server 2000 Data Warehousig with Analysis Services.

Hey ComputerMan...
I just came across your post from last month and was wondering if you tackled the exam or not.  After reading it I did some checking and will try to tackle it to obtain the cert since I have taken everything else that is required.  I too will check with M$ about it.  BTW, I tackled 70-088 as an elective and it wasn't bad at all.  Hope to hear from ya!

14  General discussions / General Discussion / SQL 7? on: October 23, 2001, 11:42:06 AM
I too am interested in obtaining a DBA cert and am scheduled to take on the 70-029 exam shortly.  I have been hearing from various posts on the internet that the MCDBA cert on SQL 7 is due to be retired.  Do you kow anything about this?  Thanks.....
