1  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-227 / Anyone taken the 70-350 yet? on: May 13, 2007, 09:29:57 PM
Yes, I've taken the 70-290.  I just was not for certain that sims would be on this exam.  But it's a Microsoft exam, I shouldn't expect any different.

I assume there are 50 questions and 2 hrs to take the exam, as usual???

4  CompTIA / Security+ / Security + Study material on: May 06, 2005, 07:59:30 PM
No, I don't know of anyone locally.  Out of the group I recently graduated with, I am the only brave soul taking the Security+ test.

A chat session is a good idea and would be helpful and even more appreciated.  Maybe I can email my old instructor and see if he will put me in contact with someone.

Only about a dozen questions that we didn't cover in the 8 week class.

My test is scheduled for Tuesday and I have the flu.  I have been trying to study between sleeping and puking.

I think I would feel more comfortable and prepared if I could review with someone that has already taken the test.

I am trying to guage my prep materials based on posts here.

I have a Security+ Textbook from an 8 week course I recently completed. (made an A in the course)  I have VNP Exam Prep software and some other test bank prep tools.

I am scoring 873 - 894 on the VNP practice tests in Certification mode.

From those who have taken and passed the certification exam, is this anywhere close to being prepared?
7  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Server 2003 / Server 2003 ALS Textbooks on: August 12, 2004, 08:34:06 AM
Thanks John,

I will probably need to look into additional materials before I take the MS vendor exam, but my classes at school require the textbooks listed in my original post.  I just can't find anyone in the U.S. that have them.

What's the story. I have been trying to purchase ISBN's:

0-07-294487-0
Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment
(for the MCSA cert exam 70-290)

0-07-294489-7
Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Network Infrastructure (for exam 70-293)

For fall classes. NO one has them and even the campus bookstore is getting the run around and no books.

Anyone know if they are being revised or just being held in Fort Knox as if they were a national secret or something?

if no one ever says anything ... nothing ever evolves or changes.

I am a college student working towards a CIS degree.  As part of our degree plan or track we are required to take a Human Relations course.  The course has been wonderful and I have learned a great deal.

As part of our semester final in this class, we have been charged with giving a presentation.  Our guidelines for our presentation were to choose another culture that we would most likely encounter and will be working closely with in our field.  As well as, approach the subject as a manager or supervisor.  How would you manage or supervise across cultures.

Since my field is IT, my choice was India.  I felt my chances of working with someone from this cultural background was the greatest of all the cultures and the one I knew the least about.

I have not been that successful finding the information I needed on the internet.  I have found alot of books but I don't have time to read a dozen books only to find none of them has the details or info I need.

So here I am... In the one place that is the most multi-cultural that I know... This Forum.

I would be deeply greatful and honored if anyone on the forum would be willing to share their experiences or what you have seen as either an American (Western Culture) working with someone of Indian culture, or Vice-Versa.  What do you see are the communication breakdowns or pitfalls?  What are the must do's and taboo's on either side of situation? What would either culture expect from their organization with regards to recognizing the differnt cultures for holiday purposes, office environment, dress or dress code, etc.?  Has the H.R. manual been adapted to these cultural differences?

Please be honest and objective.  Your feedback helps more than just me.  My presentation will be given to a large number of HR students in all fields, not just IT.
