1  General discussions / General Discussion / Peoples opinions on Lotus Certifications on: April 08, 2005, 01:21:20 AM
Hi everyone,

I am thinking of a more niched position in the IT indusrty and really enjoy working with domino box'.  So I figure why not direct my certification track in that direction in the effort to get a job around lotus box'.

My question is, do people think that the Lotus track is worthwhile?  I was thinking of going for my CCA/CCEA after my CCNA but I feel that that is still a broad 'sys admin' style of cert where as if I get my CLP/CLS then I think it's a little more specialised.

2  Cisco / CCNA / ip NAT with 3 interfaces on: April 07, 2005, 11:55:59 PM
If I have a router with 2 ethernet and one serial port and want to set up NAT.  What do I assign as inside ports and outside ports?

The two ethernet ports are part of my internal private network and the serial is connected to a public network.  I want NAT to work on both my private networks.

From what Cisco states I should assign one ethernet as inside and the other two as outside.  I would of thought that the two ethernet ports would of been Inside.  Can anyone clarify this for me?
3  Cisco / CCNA / InterVLAN Routing on: August 24, 2004, 03:25:50 AM
That won't help with routing between the VLANs using 2950's.  As mentioned earlier, you'll either need a tradition router setup, a router on a stick setup or a Layer 3 capable switch, such as a Catalyst 3550 or a 3750.

ACL's should be setup on the device doing the route.

Is there a way I can push the same time to all my switches,  for instance, from a VTP server?

I'm having trouble finding any decent material to help me study for the 70-284.  I have the Microsoft Press Exchange admin guide, but so far it's been a pretty weak guide.  Does anyone have any advice as to any other suitable materials (white papers, study guides etc) that may come in handy?

Any help would be appreciated.
7  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-219 / Passed on: March 11, 2004, 11:15:18 PM
I had four case studies and 30 mins left at the end of the exam.  Good luck on it. Have you done the 217?  The 217 was a great foundation for the design exam.
8  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-219 / Passed on: March 10, 2004, 04:02:43 AM
Passed this bastard today.  I would recommend getting comfortable with case study style questions first, they can be a XXXXX to review without going over the case again.
9  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-215 / Newbie, Heeeelp!!!! on: February 17, 2004, 07:17:09 PM
Hey mate,

I have used the Microsoft Curriculum and exam cram 2 series for 90% of my microsoft exams, and I have passed them all first go.  They are a little more expensive, however I feel that getting the info from the source is the best way of doing it.
10  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-217 / Passed on: February 16, 2004, 02:37:29 AM
Holy moly,  I needed the entire time to finish it!

Congratualtions matey.
11  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-217 / Passed today on: January 21, 2004, 06:13:51 AM
Congrats on the pass, I recently passed this one myself but am taking the 219 next.  What is your reason for taking the 220?

I think the 219 ties in nicely with the 217, which is my reason for it.
12  General discussions / General Discussion / certification is dumb... on: January 18, 2004, 07:44:08 AM
That's OK, I get those too Smiley

ROI = Return on Investment
13  General discussions / General Discussion / certification is dumb... on: January 18, 2004, 12:40:15 AM

As long as there is a positive ROI it is definately worth it.  I am yet to see one, but I'm sure it will come Smiley
14  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-217 / Registry editing permission on: December 09, 2003, 05:51:27 AM
No, that key either allows or prevents people from editing the registry.
15  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-215 / 70-270 Vs 70-215 on: December 09, 2003, 02:11:22 AM
Its not a very hard exam, and you are right in saying that some of it overlaps with the 270.  Permissions, local GPOs etc.  Post how you go.
