1  Cisco / CCNA / will these be part of CCNA test?? on: February 12, 2004, 01:27:12 PM
Simulation to fix OSPF areas.

Drag and drop TCP segment components.

Sick sick sick hard test.

No DHCP, no NAT config.

Access lists and more access lists.

oh my god!

I totally understand what you've been through! I haven't took the test but I'm taking the 3rd semester of the CCNA class and we just made a lab (during the whole day!) on OSPF and it's sooooo hard...I hope that in the exam it's all about propagating default gateways or static routes!

what do you mean by "Drag and drop TCP segment components."? put the whole source port - sequence number - ACK number - etc...? if that's the point...OH MY GOD! there are dozens of figures like that in the CCNA cursus! Sad

Well, I wish you all the luck for your next CCNA exam, I'm taking mine beginning of March...I won't sleep well the night before! AAAAaaaaarg!
2  Cisco / CCNA / Total Newbie might take 640-810 on: January 28, 2004, 09:17:36 AM

I'm taking the course right now and I just finished the first semester (over 4). This first semester is really about TCP/IP, protocols, general things about routers, switches, IP adresses, cabling and even electricity! If you have really NO experience in IT (I mean really NO experience with networks) it would probably be a bit difficult...if you already know what IP adresses and MAC adresses are and already played with a home network, you will just need to study a bit more than in class (btw, you really should take a class, studying at home is good for some Microsoft exams, but with Cisco it's a bit harder and if you have any question, you will be able to ask your teacher (and they often have labs for you to train).

Well, I hope this helped and good luck in your certification track!
3  Cisco / CCNA / preparing the CCNA course - need advice on: January 10, 2004, 10:18:19 AM
thank you for the 2500er, I'll check if I can find one. The school where I'll go have a lab where we can train with 10 routers, 5 switches and others ISDN routers, we can even come after we finish the whole course to use it for free. I hope this will be enough....

5  Cisco / CCNA / preparing the CCNA course - need advice on: January 06, 2004, 09:27:57 AM
Hello everybody,

I'm new on this forum, I just finished my MS certifications and I'm taking a course for the CCNA that begins end of january. I never worked with CISCO material and I would like to prepare a bit for this course, so do you know some books or sites that give an overview of the course or on CISCO material for beginners?

thank you for your help! Cheesy

7  CompTIA / Security+ / Passed today on: December 23, 2003, 05:50:59 PM
Hi all!

I passed the exam today!

It's the first "non-Microsoft" exam that I pass, and I really liked it! It's not that easy, but it's not that hard too! I was waiting for something quite impossible after a short visit on this forum! Wink My questions were really focused on Certificates and different algorithms, but I had a lot of questions on the different existing attacks (really easy if you know your stuff). I must say although that there are some questions were 2 answers are really close and I really really really hesitated...

well, prepare yourself (I used the "TestTaker's Guide Security+ Exam Guide" - really good), don't stress and you should ace it!!!!

good luck to all of you preparing this exam!
8  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-227 / ISA questions on: October 20, 2003, 12:28:54 PM
its almost like learning a whole new operation system.

I agree with that...and it seems no one is taking this exam?!?! There's little information on the exam and I don't know if it's hard or "easy" (well...) compared to others MCP exams.

well guys, keep on studying and good luck!

Yes, I passed my last exam for the MCSE 2K!

I had 40 Questions
4 Hours (took me 2h30)
passing score : 675 (first time I see the passing score at the beginning of the exam?!?!)

Overall, this exam is not too hard, I had a lot of SSL, VPN, L2TP, a lot of drag&drop about that and some silly questions about the cases (really easy). I almost think that if you pass it right after the 216 you can pass it, had no PKI and 2 questions about CA (really really really easy - root CA and subordinate CA...).

Well, don't panic for this one, really no!

and I'm now MCSE!!! wow!!!! cool!

Thanks to all and a special one for Jeff J.Black, the mastermind of the forum!

I'll see you on september for the last 2 for security and the 2 for the upgrade on W2K3! Now I'm on holiday! yeah! yeah! yeah! (I'm happy...did I mention that?Cheesy )

14  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-220 / any last tip? on: July 28, 2003, 07:46:12 AM
I'm passing it tomorrow...the last one...any last tip my friends? Cheesy
15  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-219 / any clue for 219 on: July 27, 2003, 11:52:07 AM
In this forum you'll find all the clues and help you want, but we don't provide cases that are in the MS exam...sorry...

Here are the clues for the exam : - Chapter 9 & 10 (link by Jeff J.Black Cheesy )

In my exam, there was a lot of "How many domains (or forest or sites) should you create?", Permissions&Group Policies(Groups in Domain Local Groups), DNS design, replication and some crazy drag&drop about where to put the DC's, the Sch.Op.Master, PDC's, RID's,...

I hope this will help...

good luck!:D
