3  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Exchange server 2000 / taking 70-224 on Friday any tips? on: February 13, 2004, 12:51:09 PM
thanks for that

Study Guides: Sybex, MOC, and Cramsession document
Exam prep software:Boson Test Engine

I printed the MS Objectives and thought yesterday that I understood each of the entries.  But some of the questions I got related to server recovery that wasn't mentioned in either of books.

I have now got the MS Press 70-224 book from a friend, hopefully that will provide enlightenment.

So my first ports of call are:-
Routing Group connectors
Monitoring servers and message connectivity
Server Growth
Restoring systems ( I will be checking the MS site tonight for more on this )

On a more positive note, I got 100% for the installing and upgrading , configuring server and managing recipient objects sections.

So I can install and configure Exchange just not support it when it goes wrong!

took the exam this morning and failed.

I need to brush up on server growth and restoring servers.

I found the questions quite ambiguous and the answers even worse.

I am hoping to reschedule in the next few weeks...

hi there

just passed ISA, quite wordy questions and confusing exhibits.

Anyway, I used the Examnotes from here, the cramsession study guide and the Sybex book ( the book was good, but the CD full of questions was badly put together. )

cheers

hi there

I have found ( please hold any laughter ! ) that the Dummies guides for Core exams a very good resource.  I have found that everything is in a easy to understand format, and I then check my Sybex books later for a further information.

I have passed the first 3 and about to take 70-217 in the next few weeks.

12  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / MCSE elective exams / Which Electives to take? on: July 04, 2003, 07:18:41 AM
hi there

I am about to take my last core exam in the next few weeks.  And I have been asked to choose my electives.

Is it best to pick electives that will be easy to pass or relevant to work?

I was thinking of taking

70-219 Designing AD
70-227 ISA Server:confused:

and an exchange one.  Any thoughts or advice?

cheers

13  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-216 / I passed! on: June 30, 2003, 03:22:08 AM
hi there

just to let you know that I passed 70-216... I felt ill afterwoods, loads of long questions where most of the test was a load of crap.  It was the hardest MS exam I have taken and out of 10 I would say that it was about 8.

anyway...

A large amount of Dial-in RRAD and VPN, DNS, DHCP questions, several drag'n'drop questions.

Not many CerT questions ( Phew!! ), or routing.

good luck to anyone else who is taking this.. and roll on 20-217...
