1  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-210 / VPN Access on: July 09, 2004, 05:12:24 PM
I have a client that VPN's into my network and then they remote desktop into a windows 2000 server on my network.  However, when more than 2 or the users log into the server everyone gets kicked out.  I checked the event log and I get nothing.  If anyone has any ideas the help will be greatly appreciated.  Some background, all clients running XP Pro server is 2000 Advanced and VPN is through Routing and Remote access on the same server which it the terminal server.
2  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-216 / Num Lock in TS on: November 14, 2003, 03:21:56 PM
I have a couple of clients connected via terminal server 2000 to use their applications.  They are running windows 95 and windows 98.  However if I sign on to their machine under my profile I can use the num lock keys.  If anyone has ever run into this problem and could help me out that would be great.
3  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-215 / Partition Magic on: October 15, 2003, 11:46:18 PM
It was on one drive.  I got everything to work.  I just made sure I had a good image before i started, but everything actually went really smooth.  The C drive is now 14 gigs.  Customers happy.
4  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-215 / Partition Magic on: October 07, 2003, 11:00:02 PM
Is anyone familiar with partition magic 7.0?  I have a Windows NT box with a 4 Gig C drive and a 35 Gig D drive.  I am able to take some space out of the D drive but it won't let me add the unallocated space to the C drive.  Any suggestions?
5  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-215 / Terminal Server rebuild on: September 13, 2003, 02:55:32 PM
I was trying to see if there was an easier way to do it. Last time I had to contact Microsoft it for a license number it was like pulling teeth from a wild animal.
6  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-215 / Terminal Server rebuild on: September 11, 2003, 10:30:41 PM
I have been assigned the task of rebuilding a terminal server for a client that has no past documentation of their terminal server license.  Does anyone know how to get this?
I really don't want to have to rebuild this machine every 90 days.
7  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-216 / Error 1920 on: September 11, 2003, 10:28:34 PM
I figured it out.  I had to load antivirus for server not for client workstation.  I almost broke my foot kicking myself for not paying attention to detail on this one.
8  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-215 / *** stop: 0x0000001F on: September 09, 2003, 11:53:26 PM
oh yeah, I fixed it by doing a fdisk /mbr.
9  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-215 / *** stop: 0x0000001F on: September 09, 2003, 11:52:23 PM
try a reinstall and then try with another hard drive.  Last time that happened to me was because the hard drive was bad.
10  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-216 / Error 1920 on: September 09, 2003, 11:50:28 PM
I had a client get hit with the KLEZ on their terminal server.  I cleaned everything up and now they want to purchase the anti virus software I offered them months ago.  However, when installing on the terminal server or domain controller I get the error message 1920, services could not start, make sure that you have the proper permissions to start services.  But I'm logged in as the administrator.  Went to the symantec site and did all the stuff they suggested but to no avail.  If anyone ever ran into this issue and fixed please advise.
11  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-215 / Can Win98 Run Login Scripts On 2k Server on: August 24, 2003, 01:33:40 AM
I was also having this issue but it was because the windows 98 machine were also using the novell client to log on and half of the mappings were going to the novell boxes.  Once I got it to be a strictly windows domain it worked fine.
12  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / 70-215 / Restoring a deleted file on: August 24, 2003, 01:26:05 AM
I know there is some software that can do this.  It also depends on whether or not it was ntfs or fat.
13  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Exchange server 2000 / Mcse? on: August 18, 2003, 04:39:48 PM
And just to add to the great tips from Jeff, the tests are a lot easier if you have everyday work experience and easier to understand if you have some hands on labs that you can do.  On your way to MCSE you can also attain MCSA by taking 70-218 after you finish 210,215, and 216.  Welcome to learning and troubleshooting (kind of at the same time).
14  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Exchange server 2000 / Tracking tool in exchange 2000 on: August 14, 2003, 08:52:11 PM
That sounds a whole lot better than what I was thinking that it was.  Is there a way to configure the exchange sever so that it blocks the messages coming in without using 3rd party software?
15  Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MOUS, MCAD) / Exchange server 2000 / Tracking tool in exchange 2000 on: August 13, 2003, 03:36:49 PM
Here is a sample of the warning messages flooding my application log in my event viewer:

Message delivery to the remote domain 'bigmailoffers.com'failed for the following reason:The remote server did not respond to a connection attempt.

And the domain is always changing with each warning message.  It looks like I'm getting a new warning message every 45 seconds.
