Hello;
Does anyone know if a Pentium 133 can be upgraded to a Pentium 200 ??
If so, about how much would it cost.

Thanks

Question

First of all, what kind of motherboard do you have? Processor upgrades are based on what the motherboard can support (screw all that overclocking BS). Check you motherboard/system's documentation to see or go the manufacturer's web site.

You can buy overdrive-type devices that will "boost" the clock speed of your computer, but I don't recommend them.

I recommend if you are trying to get a little more speed is to upgrade you memory first. Depending on what you plan to use the computer for, even a boost to a Pentium 200MHz chip would not be considered a great increase by today's standards.

I took an old Packard Bell with 150MHz and upgraded the memory to 80MB, added an 8GB hard drive, replaced the 33.6 modem with a 56K, added a new CD-ROM, and added a new sound card. I basically use it as a test machine so it is not needed for any intense work.
