saw 15 questions. most were EXACTLY from Exam Essentials. saw 3 or so on replica placement, 2 with exhibits. saw at least one on timesync (specifically NTP -- what server types). at least 2 on merging trees. what server will hold the master of the new tree. none on the design team roles. one about designing lower layers of the tree. at least one about location vs. organization based. no sims, no drag and drops. none about bindery. none about centralized vs. decentralized administration. one on the project approach phase. missed one on WAN Traffic Manager. know where to configure WTM policies (which NDS object). but also got the one about which utility to use... got it right.

score: 644 (passing is 556)

used the Novell Student Manual for Design and Implementation (took the course), Exam Essentials (http://www.certify.com) and SelfTest Software (http://www.selftestsoftware.com/).

5 down, 1 to go! Service and Support is next!

the test was adaptive, 15 - 25 questions. i saw 15.

i actually started the whole thing in feb of 99 and got my CNA in april of 99. then, i didn't take many courses for sometime and didn't do any studying -- about 3 or more months. then i took adv admin in oct 99. then net+ in march 2000 and integrating netware and nt on july 20, 2000 and then today design and implementation. so far i have passed all tests on the first try (knock on wood). and should test for service and support in 1 -2 weeks.

i only really started studying hard with net+ in march and have been studying thoroughly since then. i only wish i had done that sooner. i was working as an admin the whole time and was very busy with my old job. and 8 months ago i took a new job and ended up with more time to study. i was finished with the courses by nov of 99.

as for the sequence, follow what novell has outlined on page 1 of the PDF at this address: http://www.novell.com/education/cne/cneprog.pdf - only i substituted Networking Technologies with Network+ and used Integrating NetWare and Windows NT for my elective -- which is the best choice if already an MCP/MCSE or planning to be one. however, net+ is more expensive ($185) but is it's own certification and lets you waive Net. Tech. oh, if you are an MCSE, you can waive Net Tech. there's a waiver at: http://www.novell.com/education/waiver/waiverform.pdf

thanks and good luck to you.
