Hi everyone, I am new to CNA or CNE. I have just completed my MCSE, MCP+I and A+. I am doing my CCNA now.
I also want to do CNE or CNA. I need some help on what exams should I take and is there any axams that are exampted for those who have done MCSE, MCP+I and A+.
I would like to do CNA first and then CNE.
Thanks,
ravi

Go to http://education.novell.com and look around a bit. You'll find pdf files telling you what tests are required for CNA, CNE, and MCNE. You'll also find a pdf file that you can fill out and fax to novell along w/ your mcse cert (or network+ cert if you had it) to get out of their networking technologies test. I used my network+ cert to get out of the test and, hopefully, i have my last cne test in 2 days--then on to mcne. I would hunt for the urls for you but you really should at least read about the certs b4 u go get them. If you did any research at all you would know this information already.

Thanks...and btw..the plan is MCNE not MCSE yet. I'm still deciding on which MCSE track to take or hoping by the time I'm done with the other certifications I want, there will be lots of Win2k info out. Time's running out though.
Good Luck.

Okay, Master CNE (MCNE)looked like MCSE. This is the right time to do your MCSE NT 4.0 track. later you can upgrade to 2000. But if you wait and do 2000 track. it is tough. If you fail in any one of the core exam, you have to take all core axams again in 2000 track.
I planed to start my CNA, I have desided to take Netware 5 admin (50-639). Could you please give your recommendation. What about 50-645? is that the latest? And is the study material available for that?

Yeah...I've been debating but will prolly go with the NT4 track. I've been self-employed and am paying for all my own tests and figure for the market right now, an NT4 cert is still real valuable for when I finish and once again re-enter the job market. I took the NEW 639 test. For more info on specific tests see my other posts. The latest one, which says which tests were adaptive, which ones were not, and which ones I took, see the "CNA" thread by bobmarley. I don't know what is new with the 645 test, as the 639 one I took was a new enough version for it not to be adaptive. By the way, I havn't gone for MS test yet so I don't know what the current certificates look like but CompTIA's are sorry looking, Cisco's is nice, and Novell's (CNA) is great.
Good Luck.
