Oracle 1Z0-026
I currently completing my OCP for 8i and am having problems with 1Z0-026 - Networking. I have a number of practice tests and have tried unsuccessfully twice on this test. Any suggestions? I am going to take this again March 3rd but this will be my third time and I wil have to wait 12 months if I don't make it this time.

Looking at the 10 different sections, my worst area both times has been in the 'Oracle Names Usage and Configurtion'. There were 7 questions and I only got 2 of them correct. I can not remember the questions to give any details as to what I was unclear on. I have just purchased a 'Exam Cram' boot for this test and will be reading this, in addition to my three other practice tests, to prepare again. I was just wondering if there was some trick to this test versus the other four. One of my problems is that we actually don't use NET 8 in our enviroment because our software vendor still uses a 7 client, so I don't get much practice with this configuration. Thanks for your response though.

why don't you install Oracle on a home PC?
my database works well here. especially for networking I tried everything out you don't need a real network for that, also a stand alone PC is ok.
do you use STS? that helped me a lot.
special trick? the exam contains numerous configuration parameters and some gui questions as I can remember. you urgently need to practise with sqlnet and components.

I am not sure what STS stands for. Also, I am going to install it on my laptop and play around with the configuration using NET8 just to get use to the GUI side. You are correct, there were a number of questions regarding that portion. Thanks so much for you insight and information. My plan is currently for retaking it on March 14 so if I make it, I will let you know. Best wishes.
