You could do worse than reading the XP resource kit documentation. I've not sat the exam yet so I can't guarantee that it wil be enough to make you pass but its certainly a hell of a lot more detailed than the XP training kit from MS

This method has worked for me for many years. I try to use the following resources:
1. One good study guide, whether it be from MS, Sybex, or wherever (I'm currently studying for CCNA with a Sybex and it is excellent)
2. Get a study guide from Cram$ession.com
3. You absolutely should get a self test software package, like Tran$cenders.
4. Read every article you can about the particular subject you are studying for (subscribe to TechRepublic; get articles from 2000trainer$.com; etc)
5. Subscribe to daily practice questions from Cram$ession.com
This may sound like a lot, but it really isn't - not if you're serious about passing the first time. I wish you well with your next attempt.

some people suggest studying 215 alongside 210. maybe 215 would help study of 270 as well.

Yeah the comeons is definitely right, I've found a lot of crossover but unfortunately I haven't been studying for the 215 yet so I'm having difficulties with those bits

Tough break. I am preparing for this exam as well. I am using the MS Press Kit for Windows XP Professional. Try to find as many study guides as possible and the resource kit will be a definite help. Good luck with the re-try of this exam.

I used the MSPress book for the 70-270 exam the resource kit and Windows XP inside & out to study for the exam.
After using XP for nearly a year the exam was quite straightforward but not easy.
If you can purchase a copy of the resource kit you won't be disappointed.

When did you take this exam Lexy? I look to take it in the next 30 days. Any advice or tips for me?

Hi Rush,
I took 270 last November. It's not a complicated exam, pretty similar to Windows 2000 so revise the material for that exam.
Then it's a case of learning all the new features that are included in XP (Restore points, software firewall, driver rollback etc.)
The MSPress book gives a good grounding and the resource kit tells you pretty much everything else you need to know about a subject if you want more information or greater detail on a particular subject.
Hope this helps and good luck.
