Guidance needed to completed my studying for Network+
Greetings,
I've been an Win NT sysadmin for 2 years. I have my A+. My current
goal is to get my Network+ cert and then go for my MCSA. I've been
reading the "All In One Network+ Certification" by Micheal Meyers. I
passed the A+ by reading Micheal Meyers A+ book and taking free
practice tests online. However from what Im seeing in this group just
reading the Network+ book is not good enough. Am I assuming correctly?
Do you recommend any other source material before I take the test? For
the amount of money it costs I definately don't want to fail.
If you fail do you have to pay the same fee again?
Are there any free sources you can provide where I can take practice
tests?
Thank You

Re: Guidance needed to completed my studying for Network+
I'm taking the exam today and I feel confident after reading the All-in-One
book. I'll let you know how I do.

Re: Guidance needed to completed my studying for Network+
I read the Mike Meyers book and Scott Muellers Upgrading and Repairing
Networks. It gives immense detail on the subject. I think it gave more
information regarding the different protocols and how exactly they work. It
broke down the different frames and datagrams to show you what they are made
up of. It give useful real world knowledge as well. I recommend you buy
that as well. I am going to take my Network test in a couple weeks.

Re: Guidance needed to completed my studying for Network+
Mike's book will give you all the info you need to pass the exam. However, I
recommend you supplement it with David Groth's Sybex book which goes in
somewhat more detail in certain areas. I did use the Transcender simulation
exam and it will give you good indication how ready you are.
Silver.
