Thumbs up

Is it good for people who work in the finance field (such as students, financial managers/controllers) to have NT and SQL knowledge in this IT world?

Yes especially SQL. Look at it as something to fall back on if you ever want a change or promotion.

I don't know if I agree. Yes, it will give you something to fall back on, but your interests would probably best be served studying stuff more prudent to the financial world. Something like MOUS master would probably be better suited for you. Which shows you are very proficient with a computer, but can still be considered a financial kind of guy. I honestly think you should pick finance or IT and go with it.

It depends on what this daily duties are. It also depends on what direction he wants to go with his organization. If he wants to follow the IT aspect of the financial world, SQL and NT are good choices. If he wants to just have some basic computer knowledge/credentials then he should go the MOUS route.
