Help on Oracle 9i certification
Hello,
I have almost finished MCSE and MCDBA. I am in the running for a job that requires me to work also with Oracle and besides I want the certification anyway.
Can anyone give me any tips on information, what exams I need to pass, which books are best, etc?
TIA

Hi,
it depends how you are interested in Oracle. More as a developer or more as a system admin / dba ? Both tracks start with PL/SQL. Check out http://www.oracle.com/education/certification/ for more info about Oracle certs.
There are lots of good books about Oracle (eg. from Sybex), try to get or buy Oracle ILTs - they are the best source for exam preparation.
To understand how Oracle really works (apart from exam theory) I can only recommend "Oracle Expert one on one" from Thomas Kyte. (http:\\asktom.oracle.com) its a great source of practical expert knowledge.
Good luck for your exams!

Thanks for your reply. So you say the Sybex books are good? I am interested in it as a DBA. What are Oracle ILTs?
TIA
