216 / 217 Question

Here's my question...

I am looking to take either of these next. I have taken 210, 215 and 218.
Passed them all the first time. 210 took four weeks, 215 took two weeks,
and 218 took 2.5 weeks.

I have an open window of about to to three weeks before I start a new job.

Should I take advantage of this 'open' time to get as much of 216 done as
possible, or take 217 and finish it before I start the new job.

Thanks for your input!

Re: 216 / 217 Question

I'm going for 216 on Friday after 2 weeks. It looks a lot harder than the
others I have done. 270 in 4 weeks, 215 in 2 weeks and 218 in 1 week and I
finished them all in under 40 minutes. Reckon 216 will run me over an hour.

Re: 216 / 217 Question

Not being funny but if it only takes you 2 weeks to prepare for this exam
there is no way you will pass!!

This exam will greet you with quite a shock compared to the other exams,
just make sure you know your stuff inside out, thats includes the likes of
Subnetting etc!!

Re: 216 / 217 Question

I'm curious as to how you are able to take these exams in such short =
duration. Are you self-studying or going to some school? I work full =
time so have been self-studying at home and there is no way I could go =
from exam to exam this quickly. I've been giving myself two months for =
each exam since that's enough time to read the text book twice and use =
as many practise tests as I can find on the web.

Re: 216 / 217 Question

Hmmm, judging by this response, I might only be able to get about half
of the 216 done in the two weeks. I looked over my study guide (from
TechSkills) and for the 217 part, I would have to read one more chapter
and I'd be half done (with what I have already read and done on CDROM's
for 218). Maybe I'll do 216 and use this off time to cram as much info
into my brain as possible!

Thanks,

Re: 216 / 217 Question

Well..... I passed When I said 2 weeks, that is the time spent reading -
I have been in the industry for years. Funnily enough there was absolutely
no base2 arithmetic on my 57 questions but the test did crash twice and have
to be restarted by the test centre. It took me 90 minutes and I agree that
216 is way harder than 210, 270, 215 or 218. It also had a new drag and drop
interface for some questions that none of the other exams use. Anyway, I'm
back to mowing gardens for spring/summer/autumn. Makes more money that
tapping keys.
