Hi all,
I am just getting ready to write the exam later this week and now that I have done a lot of pratice exams online, I noticed something that is making me a bit more nervous. Most if not all these questions have a choice "none of the above" now of course I am gonna prepare as much as could be, but 65Q's.... there are bound to be some that are gonna be confusing and I think this extra choice adds to it. Now I am just wondering is this pretty much how the exam i s going to look like. Every multi-choice will have this choice at the end of them? Also if anybody have any good tips on how to remember some of the meat and potatoes of the exam ie. IOS,DOD,CLI commands....etc.
thanx

Hey,
First all, RELAX! Have fun.
I haven't taken the test, I will be later this month or early next month.
Most people who write the exam say that you must know everything about...
OSI Layers - know the 7 layers, and what happens and resides on each layer
Subnetting - know how to subnet
TCP/IP - know the different protocols, and what they are used for
Router Commands - know the basic ones, study them in Todd's book, he does a fantastic job!
Know all the above, and you will be half way through the test Hopefully.
Hope this helps,
Would you mind telling me which practice tests you used online?
Azam

tennisfan,
ya just relax, might want to play a match or two.
The exam doesn't try and trick you with the Answers. Rather, if your going to get tricked its going to by the Question.
Just read carefully and know exactly what they are asking for and youll do fine.
Late
Good luck

tennisfan,
Relax bud. The test is not as bad as you may think- when its over, you will realize what I mean. Read the Cisco's CCNA book b/c it has all the materials you need. If its any assurance to you, I cleared the CCNA exam last week and just cleared CCNP yesterday. I studied so hard for the CCNA (3 months) that it helped me for the CCNP. I took the foundation exam and the support to get my CCNP. Now I am off to CCIE written exam. Hey, you could do it also... Good luck!!!!

tennisfan,
Try this. Find a quiet place and plan on spending 5 to 10 minutes. Picture yourself going to the test center, showing ID, then going to a computer. You sit down, take a second, and take a deep breath. Visualize yourself taking the exam and doing well. Picture yourself reading the questions, reading the answers and going from one right answer to the next one. When you're done, picture yourself passing. Do this over and over and before you know it, when you go to the exam, you'll feel relaxed and ready to go (BTW, this technique is used in sports all the time, if you don't do it, it can help your game also)
Just don't forget to keep studying until a day or two before. The last day or two isn't the time to be learning new stuff. Just use it to keep stuff fresh and hit on your weak areas. The night before the exam get a good nights sleep and try not to change any routines in major ways. Go in rested, and confident and you'll be fine. Rested, you'll see the tricks and rule them out right away.
Tom

The test is straight forward. Look at the bottem left corner of the screen for the number of answers you need to check if it's one of those "Select those that apply?" type questions. If stuck, try eliminating the wrong answers. Use your 50/50.
