honestly, if you new to CCNA...it will be little bit tough using Cisco book....try Sybex...507 ...someplace like Half Price sale it for 5 bucks...not really need the 607 book to pass the exam..
I was little cheap...when I bought..about 4...of 507 books..and then went to bookstore to see some new materials....sat there w/ a cup of coffee..
good luck

how highly would you recommend this, I know it ins't that much but. I just waiting for the sybex book to come before I start studying and want to make sure I have worth while resources.
thanks

IMO you can't rely to prepare and pass CCNA only with this studyguide. I recommend it as an addition to Sybex or Cisco Press books.
I think you understood my post wrong. I said that the studyguide is good for its price, otherwise your main study resource must be Sybex or the Cisco book.

Understand perfectly, I just wanted a second resoure, but regardless of the price I don't want to waste $$ if it can't even be used for backup.
thanks

I read it and I found that the concepts are comprehensible and are explained very well in comparison with the Cisco Press book which I have too. The studyguide is a great resource, so buying it is not wasting of money IMO.
Anyway, good luck with your preparation!

IMHO
Odom book is your main man. It has everything you need if you have the wherewithal to suck it out and map it for yourself and not want it sppoon fed. As far as I know the major thing that changed between 507 and 607 was the number and hopefully some error corrections.
