here is something from a email newsletter:
World's Youngest MCSE
Master Chandrashekar from India is the world's youngest MCSE at the age of 10. He broke the previous record set by Tarun Sachdev of Ahemedabad at the age of 13. Chandrashekar who is currently studying 5th grade at Thirunelveli, received his MCSE training from Chennai. Chandrashekar was also the youngest MCP when he completed the Microsoft Windows NT workstation and Microsoft Windows NT Server at the age of 9.
What do u think of this???some kinda race or something????
god bless all the MCSE's.

Wow, and I thought I was doing pretty good having turned 18 a couple weeks ago. CCIE at 17? Congradulations to all those mentioned.

Matt, its good to hear that you have achieved so much already at a age 18, I'm 18 as well, and "only" my Net+ and A+, both which I got when I was 17. Do you have a job yet, and any hands on router experience?
Congrats to all of those young techs
Azam

I have had a job since July (my first) as the entire IT department for a small company. The pay's not that good, but other then that it's a great job. I've learned a lot about networking, programing, databasing and (eak!) tech support. Haven't gotten any router configuration experience yet, but we just got a T1 installed with a Cisco 2600 router so hopefully I'll get to play with the new toy soon.
When I was looking for a job I spent a couple months trying to get in on the WAN side of things. That's where a lot of my interests and knowledge lie (routers, web design, *nix...) so I thought I'd get an entry level job there. Unfortunately, entry-level, part time WAN jobs are very rare, at least in Central Florida. At that point I changed my search to anything in the networking arena that wasn't primarily tech support and got this job within a couple weeks.
One piece of advice I'd give you if you want to get into the networking side of things is to get one or more of the vendor specific certs (M$, Novell, Cisco, Sun...). When I went on those interviews the people interviewing me were very interested in the A+ and Cisco certs, but didn't care about Network+.

I know a CCIE here in Atlanta that has a nephew that he has been training. He is a CCNP at 17 and is on track to be CCIE by the time he graduates high school.
Wish I had an uncle training me like this.
