this is a previous post from TheSkipster
hope he doesn't mind me copying it here
The exam has 65 questions and is scored on a scale of 300 to 1000. The following are all the possible scores, depending on how many questions you get right:
00 -> 300 | 20 -> 515 | 40 -> 730 | 60 -> 946
01 -> 310 | 21 -> 526 | 41 -> 741 | 61 -> 956
02 -> 321 | 22 -> 536 | 42 -> 752 | 62 -> 967
03 -> 332 | 23 -> 547 | 43 -> 763 | 63 -> 978
04 -> 343 | 24 -> 558 | 44 -> 773 | 64 -> 989
05 -> 353 | 25 -> 569 | 45 -> 784 | 65 -> 1000

04 -> 343 | 24 -> 558 | 44 -> 773 | 64 -> 989

Thanks...but then why does the Dummies for CCNA book says that you can get away with 20 wrong answers in the exams? The above explaination says around 15? Thanks.

Hi Tulip.
Nobody knows for sure how Cisco marks for the CCNA (except Cisco!) You will get varying responses about this question. Even the table that I copied from a post made by Skip may not be 100% accurate. It's possible that Cisco gives higher weighting to some questions than others. The table that is showing above is only a rough guide, although in my opinion it most accurately reflects Cisco's marking scheme. But that's only my opinion.
Cheers,
Deets
P.S. Just aim for 100%!!! (ie. 1000)

I have my doubts that CISCO gives equal weight to each of the 65 questions. Why will they? The questions vary widely in complexity or the lack of it. Some questions are just so simple that you will not really expect to find such in the CCNA exam.
