As system administrator you type "debug ipx sap" and receive the following lines as part of the IOS response:
type 0x4, "Hello2", 199.0002.0003.0006 (451), 2 hops
type 0x4, "Hello1", 199.0002.0003.0008 (451), 2 hops
What does the "0x4" signify ???
A. That is a Get Nearest Server Response
B. That is a General query
C. That is a General response
D. That is a Get Nearest Server request

Hint: Make your topic line indicate what your message is about. E.g. "Interpreting output form debug ipx sap".

First of all. If I issue "debug ipx sap" on my router it asks for more. Follow that command with "events" or "activity".

None of the above. I think the 4 means that this is a file server (7 is a print server).
The alternative answers given above are most likely for a line that precedes the cited lines in the debug output.
Note that the lines you cite each represent an entry in an array of a SAP broadcast. The answer alternatives describe a type of SAP broadcast message (the entire message that is).
Corrections and comments are (as allways) welcome.
Terje

Terje is correct, this is a SAP Type value,
not a SAP reponse value

______
type 0x4, "Hello2", 199.0002.0003.0006 (451), 2 hops
type 0x4, "Hello1", 199.0002.0003.0008 (451), 2 hops
What does the "0x4" signify ???
A. That is a Get Nearest Server Response
B. That is a General query
C. That is a General response
D. That is a Get Nearest Server request

Thiks question does not even include the line
that gives you the SAP reponse type. The line shown only tells you the SAP type.
The 0x4 is the SAP type not a SAP reponse type as the question implies. Cisco's website agrees with Terje based on their explaination of their sample output of the "debug ipx sap" command.
IPXSAP: at 0023F778:
I SAP Response type 0x2 len 160 src
type 0x4, "Hello2", 199.0002.0004.0006 (451), 2 hops
type 0x4, "Hello1", 199.0002.0004.0008 (451), 2 hops
The "Reponse type 0x2" line would match the choices they gave you, not "type 0x4" which would be the SAP types as Terje said.
So no of their answers would be correct unless they included the missing line above
the partial output shown in their question.
Even then they would have had to ask you for the value 0x2 to get SAP reponse type reather than 0x4.
SAP Response types
0x1--General query
0x2--General response
0x3--Get Nearest Server request
0x4--Get Nearest Server response
SAP types
0x0--Unknown
0x1--User
0x2--User group
0x3--Print queue
0x4--File server
0x5--Job server
0x6--Gateway
0x7--Print server
