i just wrote the exam , here's some tips for everyone.

I used the syngress book to study, did not use any pratice exam.

the exam focus on theory and features, don't waste too much time to memorize
all the commands.

exam based on PIXOS 6.2

I got 60 questions and the passing rate is ~820.

a pretty easy exam if you have ANY pix experience.

What labs did you get? I have the Cisco Press Secure Pix Firewalls book is
there anything missing in this that I should know about for the exam? Could
you also tell me what the 6 grading areas are off your score report (dont
think this breaks NDA).

Thanks

Gary

Re: 9E0-111 CSPFA

Gary,

Look at the objectives on Cisco's web site. This test covers features in 6.2
and the objectives make no mention of IOS Firewalls. The Cisco Press book is
good for the old exam, but is missing A LOT of information necessary for the
new exam. If you can get your hands on the new course book from an official
training partner, then you'll have all that you need.

Cheers!

Hi,

Thanks, I bought the book back in February last year, I really should have
went for the exam before it got outdated, just got busy with other things! I
failed the MCNS 3.0 recently by 3% very hard exam, will resit in 6 weeks. I
thought the passmark was a bit high at 860/1000 , I aced the lab though
section though. There were very obscure IPSec questions and a few other mind
bogglers which doesnt help when you can only get 6-7 wrong. I suspect Cisco
are making this one hard (it used to be the easy one?) as you can now get
specialist 'mini certs' with any of the remaining exams, any opinions?

Cheers

Gary
