Hi All
Just got back from the CCNA, passed with 924!
Feel like a HUGE weight has gone off my shoulders!
Exam was very tough, honestly thought I was gonna fail it again and did a doubletake when I saw that I hadn't. Felt like this exam was testing a higher level that the first time I took it, leading me to wonder if Cisco sets up a more difficult test if you fail it once......who knows.
Anyway just want to express my thanks to everyone in the form, and especially to those who have answered my posts(there are many) although I probably learned just as much reading posts by others.
Well don't wanna write a russian novel here..so
Thanks again,
Duck

Hi Sean
I got 816 on my first attempt. It really threw me for a loop at the time. Very Discouraging. But the key thing is to keep attacking the material.
To restudy I went out and bought the Lammle book, which is excellent, especially the practice exams. (Previously I had only used the Cisco press texts which were given to me during the ICND course) I also consulted with some of the gurus at work and that helped to solidify some of the concepts I was not as clear on. I also downloaded any and all free exam preps I could find, exam Essentials, Bosun Exams, and Techmindworks. These programs are really very good, if I were to do it again and I would have registered with Techmindworks for a 2 week membership because this seems like a great deal. Likely you know you're stuff, but as the Cisco's questions are written so badly, you need to do a wealth of questions just to have that edge when you sit the exam again.
After that I just relearned everything, you received a score so close to passing like my own, I'm certain that you know your stuff but there were probably a few grey areas you had just before you went in ( for me it was ISDN and Frame Relay that were hazy in the first attempt)Try to focus on those.
As a last hint, if you have the money try to take the exam as soon as possible while the material is still fresh from your first attempt. After missing the exam the first try I waited a few months(no cash) before I wrote again. I wish I hadn't as I ended up forgetting too much.
Anyway I'm getting long winded again....
But don't get discouraged, my friend, if I can get it, trust me, anyone can.
I have no doubt that you'll nail the exam the second time around as I did.
