Mouse Problem

Using Windows 98:

I have a mouse problem... when I move the mouse left to right really fast,
it responds erratically. It all started when I tried this stupid no name
brand optical mouse.

I need to reinstall the mouse drivers but forgot how. I tried deleting the
drivers in device manager... but no luck. It still moves funny.

I vaguely remember last time I used the Windows 98CD to replace the mouse
drivers on the system, but its been a long time and I cant remember how.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Re: Mouse Problem

Sounds Like a good clean is called for, debris, fluff inside blocking the
sensors.
Open it up and give it an internal.

Re: Mouse Problem

This is normal for an optical mouse. Especially for older ones using older
optical technology (ie. not dual optical, etc.) Solution : replace with
non-optical mouse or a higher end optical mouse.

Re: Mouse Problem

I tried a non optical mouse, but still not working. This problem became so
bad that I had to reload an image. Things are better now.
