Re: Benefit of being an MCDBA
The official list is on:
http://www.microsoft.com/traincert/...ba/benefits.asp
And it might help you get a job easier, I would prefer to hire people who
have an MCDBA for example. Not that I think having an MCDBA makes you a
great DBA or database developer by definition, but more because there are so
many people out there who pretend that they know a lot about SQL but don't,
and at least people with an MCDBA will have a decent base level.

Re: Benefit of being an MCDBA
Hi Shafeek,
1. You get full free subscription for SQL Magazine for 1 Year.
2. 50 % reduction in MSDN Subscription
3. Confirms that you are a professional DBA
4. Definitely adds value to your resume.
Regards
Hari.

Re: Benefit of being an MCDBA
In what country did you get 50% off in MSDN subscription?

Re: Benefit of being an MCDBA
In my welcome kit, it had an application for 500 dollars off the MSDN
Universal subscription.
The application also stated that it expired June 2002. Seemed weird since I
just got the MCDBA this month.
I sent it in anyway.

Re: Benefit of being an MCDBA
500 was the discount they enclosed.
MSDN Universal is quite expensive, btw.

Re: Benefit of being an MCDBA
Check out MSDN Universal on eBay. You can get legit subscriptions this way
for A LOT less; around $1000 give or take. I bought mine this way and have
been VERY happy with it.

Re: Benefit of being an MCDBA
I will look into that when I am up for renewal.
I had no idea that option existed.
Thanks
