Guys, what is the difference between configure memory and configure overwrite. Which one gets saved to the running config. I had this question and was baffled. Appreciate any response.

From www.cisco.com

  • configure memory
Reexecute the configuration commands located in the startup configuration.
  • configure overwrite-network
The copy rcp startup-config or copy tftp startup-config command replaces the configure overwrite-network command. If you use rcp, see the copy rcp command for more information on copy rcp startup-config. If you use TFTP, see the copy tftp command for more information on copy tftp startup-config.

Hope this helps.
