You are telling Internet Explorer in system two to use a proxy server
located on system 1 to access internet sites - is there a proxy server
installed on system 1? If so, what proxy is installed?

Can each machine ping each other?

Is there a green link light glowing on each computers network card?

Are you using a cross over utp cable to connect each pc directly to the
other, or are you using a hub/switch solution?

It is important that your 2 machines can communicate with each other
without the proxy server.

From the 10.0.0.1 machine, can you ping to 10.0.0.1 as well as
10.0.0.2

Is the same true at the 10.0.0.2 machine?

Once you have your home network working, what proxy software are you
using? I am only familiar with the AnalogX application.

Re: help broadband again

ping from system 1 failed error code 65 (ping 10.0.0.2)

ping from system 2 successful (ping10.0.0.1)

both systems can see each other on net. neighbourhood
and access each other, strange?????
